Idaho department of fish and game - Idaho department of fish and game project objectives are: 1. To increase user enjoyment of the horsethief reservoir boating access area, specifically by improving the campground while reducing costs associated with idfg's management of camping. 2. To modify the 1,800' loop road by leveling, improving drainage, adding base material, adding large boulders to define the road, and by applying asphalt. 3. To modify the 11,000 ft western parking area by leveling, adding base material, adding large boulders to define the boundaries of the parking area, and by applying asphalt. 4. To modify the 15,000 ft eastern parking areas by leveling, adding base material, adding large boulders to define the boundaries of the parking area, and by applying asphalt. 5. To modify or creating 27 general camp sites by leveling or excavating, constructing partially-buried, 6x6 wooden post frames (for parking and campsite delineation), adding base material into frames, and adding vehicle deterrents. 6. To modify 4 ada-compliant camp sites by leveling or excavating, constructing partially-buried, 6x6 wooden post frames (for parking and campsite delineation), adding base material into frames, and adding vehicle deterrents.
Forest service - forrest service project objectives are: 1. To improve the resiliency, health and sustainability of the terrestial, wetland and aquatic ecosystems in the Southwest Idaho area through a partnership and collaborative process that involves the rc&d and the us forst service. 2. To identify and explore specific restoration goals for the boise and payette national forests that are widely supported by partners, scientists and managers, and the rc&d emphasizing efforts that address forest challenges. 3. To ensure that restoration will be guided by sound science. 3. To work together to promote ecological restoration activities by supporting initiatives led by partners. 4. To encourage constructive dialogue and the application of the best science or best management practices. 5. Inform and educate us forest service staff, rc&d council and executive board, and partners about current and planned ecological restoration activities and results. 6. To strengthen us forest service relationships with partners through routine or specific involvement in project planning and implementation. 7. Promote and/or support projects that meet the rc&d goals to improve the economy and enrich lives in the communities as guided by the rc&d five year area plan.
Boise foothills plant guide project- the continued printing and distribution of guide to distribute knowledge of the plants in the boise foothills. This is an information booklet featuring over 80 boise foothill plant species. It contains descriptions, uses, and photos. Education between beneficial plants and noxious weeds is important to educate people about the ecosystem of the foothills.
