Mission:the Mcgraw-Hill Research Foundation's mission is to support organizations, projects and activities that are advancing Global education and knowledge in the 21st century. To further this commitment, the Mcgraw-Hill Research Foundation will educate, inform and raise awareness about:1. New methodologies to improve student and teacher performance;2. the use of technology and innovation to empower life-long learning and education for jobs;3. the need to improve financial literacy; and,4. Emerging societal issues and trends impacting the Global community.
On september 23, 2014, the Mcgraw-Hill Research Foundation hosted the 2014 harold w. mcgraw, jr. prize in education at the ny public library in new york city. Three winners were chosen for the innovative Research and and tactics being used worldwide to identify and narrow achievement gaps across the education spectrum. Honorees included andreas schleicher, director for education and skills and special advisor on education policy to the secretary-general at the organization for economic co-operation and development (oecd), chris lehmann, founding principal, science leadership academy in philadelphia and sara martinez tucker, ceo, national math + science initiative (nmsi).the harold w. mcgraw, jr. prize in education annually recognizes outstanding individuals who have dedicated themselves to improving education in this country and whose accomplishments are making a difference today.attendees included worldwide senior leaders and educators.
