The Space Coast Health Foundation is committed to improving the Health and wellness of individuals and communities in brevard county Florida. The specific community Health care needs chosen for funding are determined through focus groups, one-on-one interviews with community representatives and quantitative research. Those priority areas were identified as access to medical, dental and behavioral Health services. The Foundation accomplishes this mission through financially supporting organizations and advocacy for Health and wellness services, especially for the under and un-insured, as well as operating two programs, the children's advocacy center of brevard and the lifetime counseling center.
(continuation of above 4a) the children's advocacy center is a team intervention model for effective, child focused and sensitive investigation of allegations of child abuse and neglect. This approach is a collaborative model to insure the child's safety and needs are met. Lifetime counseling center provides a client- centered, strength-based approach to mental Health and substance abuse counseling services, including anxiety, depression, trauma, physical and sexual abuse, eating disorders, co-occurring disorders, parenting, behavioral disorders and more. In addition, the center offers psychological testing and evaluation services.
