Program areas at Sparks Rotary Community Fund
Funds were provided to the maison t. ortiz youth outdoor skills camp which is dedicated to providing a unique outdoor experience and teaching valuable outdoor skills to urban and rural children of northern Nevada. At the camp, children ages 11 to 16 will be accompanied by mentors and expert volunteers as they participate in various activities including outdoor safety and hunter education, shooting, archery, map reading, fishing, basic survival, first aid, laser safe shot and fly tying instruction. All activity supplies as well as food, drinks and housing are provided to participants at no charge.
Washoe county middle schools were provided funds for their leadership programs for middle school students.
Rotary youth leadership award program was provided funds for high school students to attend the Rotary leadership program.
