The 1849 Foundation enhances the relationship between the sacramento police family and the community they serve through memorial scholarships, emergency crisis relief, spd team athletics and spd history.the memorial scholarship program provides awards in the name of spd fallen (lodd) officers, engages surviving family members of fallen spd officers and provides awards in the names of former Spoa members. The emergency crisis relief program provides relief for professional job-related needs, provides relief for catastrophic personal needs and provides relief for traumatic incidents. The spd team athletics program supports spc teams that contribute to local charity and supports local athletics that support the community. The spd history program established a spd police museum and historical education and presents "spd living history" educational outreach.
