Program areas at Sports in Schools
Middle School Tennis program offered for 6 weeks for twice a week lessons at 12 public middle schools in Seattle with emphasis on schools with the highest percentage of free and reduced lunch families. Provided equipment, free court time and instruction to 170 middle schoolers ages 11-14.
Grants to students, teams, and school districts to cover equipmentcosts, uniform costs, and pay-to-play fees.
Girls Leadership Summit held virtually on National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Approximately three hours of programming with 150 high school girl athletes and their coaches with focus on working through obstacles, finding power in your community and pushing your limits to become the best version of yourself. Emphasis on BIPOC communities and Title 1 schools. Girl participants received lunch certificate through GrubHub, T-shirts, a journal and other fun swag from our sponsors and partners.
