Program areas at Springfield Urban League

Head Start and Early Head Start program provided early childhood education, health, nutrition for children 3 to 5 years old. Other services include family goal setting and family support, community outreach for social services, mental wellness and parent/child activities. Currently, the head start program provides center based services for 619 children in two counties Sangamon and Morgan. Twenty-First Century is after school program, provides the enrichment activities and tutoring, parent engagement for elementary, middle, and high school students in Springfield District.
Health Initiative Program includes Community of Color, Wheels on Wellness and African American AIDS Response Act.
Cornerstone training program allows both state and local personnelfrom WIC programs to receive training be on programmatic issues and computer software used in accordance with Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines. There is also programmatic training for management, professional and clerical staff as well as expanding services to include a variety of human services and public health programs and distance learning.
