Program areas at Spur Impact Association

The Spur giving initiative is designed to help nonprofits activate younger donors and new board members. Spur Impact's platform (degives.org) provides nonprofits an easy and turnkey way to raise money from these and other individual supporters. Spur Impact led and used the platform to help organize the statewide do more 24 Delaware gives day event on march 2-3, 2023, which raised more than $2.3 million for 524 Delaware nonprofits from more than 17,000 unique donors over 24 hours.
The Delaware difference makers are an informal networking group designed to help those who work in the nonprofit sector meet their counterparts, share best practices, and otherwise discover new or emerging industry trends or events. In 2023, Spur Impact launched the emerging leaders community (elc), a program designed to help train young professionals and emerging leaders interested in philanthropy and nonprofit board leadership. The elc will help develop and grow the talent pipeline and help place elc members onto nonprofit boards.
The millsummit is the premier leadership and professional development conference designed to help connect emerging leaders, difference makers, rising stars, and other professionals who want to make an Impact in their career and community. In 2023, there were more than 400 unique in person and virtual attendees from 18 states, including 61 speakers (77% of speakers were women or persons of color). The millsummit continues to be among the largest hybrid conferences of its kind in the country.
The other Spur Impact initiatives include the nine innings of networking (Spur networking) and the pursuit of health & wellness (Spur wellness). The nine innings of networking are delaware-focused job fair and networking events. In 2022-23, Spur Impact held two of these networking events during a baseball game at a local minor league stadium, in addition to other networking events throughout the year. The nature of the event at the baseball stadium allows for a more relaxed networking and recruiting atmosphere between the prospective employees (and other attendees) and any employers attending the game. The job fair aspect of the nine innings of networking initiative is expected to be phased out with a more intentional focus on in-person and hybrid networking events throughout the year.the pursuit of health & wellness or Spur wellness initiative is focused on promoting health and wellness in different ways to the emerging leaders and young professionals in Spur Impact's network as well as to the broader community. Although the health fair event is not expected to continue, Spur Impact has continued to develop its health in high heels women's focused networking event and also incorporates health & wellness topics into much of its programming throughout the year.
