Program areas at Spurwink Services
Spurwink provides out-of-home treatment for children and adolescents in 1) residential treatment facility in Cumberland County serving about 20 youth per year; 2) three Special Purpose Private Schools in Cumberland, Androscoggin and Kennebec counties and a Therapeutic Pre-School in York County serving 150 students per year; and 3) treatment foster homes in southern and central Maine serving about 30 children per year.
Spurwink provides residential programs for about 100 adults living with intellectual disabilities and autism through about 30 homes and 2 intermediate care facilities in York, Cumberland and Androscoggin Counties, and about 25 Shared Living homes.
Spurwink provides outpatient and community-based services for individuals - children, adolescents and adults living with mental health or intellectual disabilities or suspected abuse. Those services are offered at numerous sites throughout Maine and include outpatient therapy (in public school settings, outpatient office, and primary care practices), medication management, behavioral health homes, Assertive Community Treatment, case management, Opioid Health Home, Living Room Crisis Center, trauma focused treatment for refugees, child abuse evaluations, as well as a number of contracted services for the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. These programs serve approximately 10,000 individuals per year.
