Program areas at St Andrews Childrens Clinic
The Clinic provided free medical treatment in nogales, Arizona for approximately 70-80 disabled children per month, from impoverished families from mexico. Medical services are provided in the areas of audiology, vision, nutrition, speech, orthopedic, medication, physical therapy, orthotics, pediatrics, occupational therapy, reiki therapy, dermatology and cardiology. In 2023, there were 578 patient visits, 3 customized wheelchairs, 21 repaired hearing aids, 15 lab visits, 17 ipads for alternative communication, 47 prothesis, 31 orthotics, and 14 corrective shoes. The Clinic also provided needed surgeries and testing with shriners international hospitals for 10 children, and provided for roundtrip flights for those children and their parent to the hospitals. The Clinic also provided 72 surgeries for cleft palate and 495 dental visits. The Clinic is staffed by volunteers including doctors, specialists and paraprofessionals noted in the medical areas above. There were over 2,640 Clinic hours by volunteer health care professionals.with the assitance of donors, the Clinic was able to achieve a rental space for the Clinic that is used only by the Clinic. This additional space will allow the Clinic to serve more in the future. We are hoping to get Clinic day back up to the 200 children per day level in the future. In 2024, we are opening two more clinics for autism and expanding cleft palate program. Our new Clinic space will allow us to achieve these goals in the future.
