St Nicholas Neighbor In Need Corporation

The St. Nicholas Neighbor in Need foundation provided a power wheelchair to a 14 year old boy who had been hospitalized since november 2021 after sustaining a gunshot wound to the neck with injuries resulting in quadriplegia. He had been in pediatric rehab since dec 2021.we transported the chair to riley children's hospital on february 17, at which time many adaptations had to be done to the chair to make it most useful for the patient. The foundation also paid for the accommodations to the wheelchair. The patient was discharged from the hospital on april 8 and is doing well at home!

The St. Nicholas Neighbor in Need foundation provided a handicap accessible van to a young man, who, at the age of 18, was diagnosed with fredreich's ataxia (a rare neuromuscular disease). He is now 34 and is confined full time to a wheelchair or bed and he did not have a vehicle that would allow him to attend his many doctors appointments or daily living activities.

The St. Nicholas Neighbor in Need foundation provided a a mobile stair lift for a woman who has been battling cancer; diffuse large b-cell (non-hodgkins) lymphoma, since january of 2019. On april 18, she underwent amputation surgery on her right leg as there was an infection in the bone at her knee. She was in Need of the mobile stair lift to utilize at her children's school and to assist her in getting upstairs to her bedroom. It has been 6 months since she had slept in her own bed. (her husband as well since he is her caregiver.)
