Program areas at St Vincent Home for Children
Transitional Living Program (TLP) - The TLP is an on-campus 18 month program for unhoused or at-risk youth ages 16-22. TLP participants access services that empower them to transition successfully into independence: structured, on-campus housing, individual, group, and family therapy, personalized case management, life skills, and up to six months of continued counseling and case management services after completing the program. During 2022, 42 youth participated in the TLP. Over 80% of youth leaving TLP were discharged to safe and stable destinations that included family, friensd, TLP/Independent living , and shelter.
Emergency Shelter - A maximum 30 shelter program plus aftercare for youth ages 10-19. This program meets immediate and basic needs, reduces behavioral and emotional symptons, enhances decision-making skills and relationships, and helps youth and families resolve issues so the youth can return home and be successful. During 2022, 106 youth were served through Emergency Shelter. 100% of youth served in this program had their immediate and basic needs met. Drop-In Center - A haven for unhoused or at-risk youth ages 10-19 to access recreation, laundry facilities, a hot meal, life skills, and community resources. In connection with the Drop-In Center, the CC's Street Outreach Program brings staff to areas around the St. Louis region with high concentrations of unhoused or at-risk youth to provide basic needs support, connect them to safe shelter, and reduce harmful behaviors. During 2022, 215 youth participated in Drop-In services. Over 90% of youth maintained/improved school attendance/remained in school.
Community-Based Services - Serves youth ages 6-19, both off-campus and on-campus, by providing trauma-informed counseling, case management, and supportive services that nurture youth's social and emotional well-being. During 2022, 89 youth participated in Community-Based Services. 100% of participants were free from law enforcement/juvenile justice involvement or re-offended.
