Description
Since its inception in 1997, The Starbucks Foundation has awarded $8 million to more than 760 literacy and youth organizations. These grants provide organizations support in the development of innovative learning opportunities for children and youth. This includes funding for books, educational materials, volunteer training and staff that further the educational mission of grant recipient organizations. Funding for the Foundation has come mostly from Starbucks Coffee Company and also from individual donations. This is one element of Starbucks' continuing efforts to give back to the community.
