Program areas at State Innovation Exchange
Six's reproductive rights program organizes and facilitates the reproductive freedom leadership council (rflc), a nonpartisan group of State legislators. The rflc educates and engages legislators and the general public on issues related to reproductive health, rights and justice, through skill and issue-based trainings, convenings, public opinion research, and public policy education.
Democracy: six's democracy program is a national initiative that works with State legislators, the general public, and grassroots movements to be dynamic champions for a powerful, inclusive and participatory democracy. The project provides public policy research, bill tracking, issue briefings, skill and issue-based trainings, and regional and national convenings.
Legislative affairs: six provides local technical assistance and educational support to State legislators, the general public, and grassroots movements on a wide array of progressive public policy topics. This includes developing customized policy research, creating policy education materials, conducting issue briefings, hosting skill-based trainings, conducting public opinion research, and facilitating local, regional, and national convenings.
Agriculture & food systems is a program that focuses on supporting policies that promote healthy and thriving rural communities through ecologically and socially-responsible agriculture and local, direct-market food systems.
Special projects
Convenings are a key way through which we bring legislators and movement partners and other key stakeholders to advance our mission. These convenings equip legislators and partners with a great understanding of the most pressing issues of our time and prepare them to pave the way forward. In 2022 we hosted 5 major convenings: the 2022 national conference, mexico delegation, outside voices, southern convening and the policy accelerator.
Six's new economic justice project realizes economic justice policies and deepens our programmatic footprint by further organizing State legislators and movement groups in order to advance policies rooted in economic justice. Legislators and movement partners have looked to six to be a visionary convener and driver of change.
