Statewide Educational Organizing Committee (SEOC)

Asbury Park Chapter: The chapter successfully challenged the dysfunctional system of discipling that was resulting in very high rates of suspension beginning with first graders. A new, more student friendly policy that has decrease "PUSH OUT" and increased student achievement has been implemented by the chapter. This chapter also recently won their safety campaign, requesting courtesy bussing for elementary school children that must cross at least two major intersections without adequate crossing guards.

Jersey City Chapter: The chapter accomplished the goal of opening a parent center at M.S. 7,41 and 4 school. They also continue to press for the completion of the remediation of lead in the water. This chapter also help get parents involved in superintendent search

Elizabeth Chapter: The Chapter's first accomplishment was implementing a "Parental Involvement Policy" as the district did not have one. Their first campaign focuses on th class size and graduation requirements vs. the New Jersey state requirements. Their second campaign deals withe the way the Elizabeth Board of Education conducts their monthly meetings.;
