Social Outreach: Having a child with special needs is isolating and scary. Motherhood is commonly said to be the most important job and the greatest source of joy. However for a special needs mom this can be shaped defined and limited by what a child cannot do. Through events such as cooking demonstrations events and dinners the Organization reminds these moms to take time out of their hectic schedules to focus on themselves take a break have fun and connect.
Happy Campers: This program provides sponsorships for children with disabilities to attend summer camp. The child may literally be the happy camper but parents receiving several days of respite will be happy campers too! This is so important to Steel Magnolia Moms because it supports our mission of encouraging moms to take care of their own health and happiness.
Head to Heart: This program provides professional psychological support with private and group therapy sessions.
