LA State Department of Education - Provided academic enrichment opportunities for 400 children attending low performing schools through the creation of a community learning center for the purpose of assisting students in meeting state and local academic achievement standards in core academic subject areas.
United States Department of Defense - STEM NOLA provided hands-on STEM exposure, learning, and early career development activities to children of military-connected families while building a comprehensive STEM learning ecosystem in regional areas of Louisians and the Gulf Coast. Our major goals focused on (1) engaging communities in hands-on STEM activities to spark long-term interest in STEM career paths, (2) Connecting with schools across the area to support their efforts in teaching STEM topics, (3) Facilitating a love of STEM learning for youth in Kindergarten to 12th Grades as they engage with STEM model kits, and facilitating(4) Operation Logistics and locations, (5) STEM-focused summer camps. We completed programming with serving over 3000 participants by year end.
Jefferson Parish Public Schools - Over 2,000 students participated in STEM NOLAs hands-on, inquiry-based activities and events designed to supplement STEM curriculum requirements at every grade level both during in-school and out-of-school time sessions. Students had the opportunity to learn by asking questions, observing demonstrations, completing experiments, building working STEM model kits and engaging in exciting collaborative projects.
