Program areas at Stem Nola
DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE - STEM NOLA provided hands-on STEM exposure, learning, and early career development activities to military-connected children and their families while building a comprehensive STEM learning ecosystem in certain areas; our major goals focused on (1) continuing establishing military contacts in service areas, (2) Connecting with school boards through military contacts, (3) Kit distribution, (4) Operation Logistics and locations, (5) STEM-focused summer camps. We are actively accomplishing all areas with a total of 2,998 participants.
21st CCLC - provided academic enrichment opportunities for 378 children attending low performing schools through the creation of a community learning center for the purpose of assisting students in meeting state and local academic achievement standards in core academic subject areas.
JEFFERSON PARISH SCHOOLS - 3,371 students participated in STEM NOLA's hands-on, inquiry-based activates and events designed to supplement STEM curriculum requirements at every grade level, as well as teacher development packages. Students had the opportunity to learn by asking questions, observing demonstrations completing experiments, building kits and engaging in exciting collaborative projects.
