Program areas at Stephenson Place
Stephenson Place served low-income clients in 26 households consisting of 46 persons. Our program operates under the housing first model so saaf does not exclude clients from entering housing due to criminal history, rental history, domestic violence, mental illness, substance use, or other factors that might prevent a person from obtaining housing.we continue to transition clients who have stabilized and are doing well in housing to independent unsubsidized housing or to mainstream programs like section 8 housing through the city of tucson. We have been able to achieve this through a partnership with the city of tucson public housing authority where we can refer clients directly to section 8 housing. During this fiscal year, saaf hired a professional company to clean the vents thoroughly and remove any built-up dust, debris, and mold that may have been blocking airflow. The process has made a noticeable difference in the freshness of our indoor air, and we plan to schedule regular cleanings in the future to maintain optimal air quality.we had the roofs resealed to ensure that they remain watertight and weather resistant, allowing our tenants the peace of mind knowing that their homes are safe and secure. We have recently updated our laundry facilities to provide a more convenient and enjoyable experience for our residents. The laundry room has been given a fresh coat of paint, new shelving units have been installed for added storage space, and we have replaced the old washers and dryers with new, efficient models. Additionally, we installed energy-efficient lighting throughout the property to provide bright and reliable illumination while consuming minimal electricity, ensuring the safety and security of our tenants and reduce energy consumption. We also updated our security system to ensure the safety of our residents.overall, these improvements aim to enhance the quality of life for our tenants and provide a comfortable and sustainable living environment. We are committed to continuously improving our property and ensuring the well-being of our residents
