Stillwater Historical Society records and preserves the history and artifacts of Stillwater County and the vicinity, builds, maintains, and operates a local museum to house and display a collection of such artifacts. In 2020, it hosted over 3,000 visitors including 346 students from area schools. It also negotiated a contract to ensure that some of the oldest historical county records are properly housed and available to the public. Additionally, it has transcribed 17 oral histories recorded over the past seven years.

Program areas at Stillwater Historical Society

Hosted over 3,000 visitors from 38 states and 6 countries. The school tours had nearly 400 student visitors and expanded to inculde students from the state of Wyoming. Led seventy-two participants on a geology and history tour of Mouat Lake Camp and the Keogh Buffalo Jump. An inventory of historic barns in the county is underway. Have completed nearly 30 professional video oral histories for the Stillwater County History Documentary that will be available in 2025. Over 80 hours of research have been conducted by students and people of all ages.
