Afghanistan - in 2023, sahr signed a fiscal sponsorship agreement with an organization called women for justice organization (wjo), a non-profit, non-governmental organisation registered in kabul, afghanistan. Its mission is to defend the Rights of women and strengthen institutional accountability, prevention and response togender-based violence. According to the agreement, sahr takes on the fiscal and administrative responsibilities of receiving and administering charitable contributions on behalf of wjo. This partnership was formed as a result of the crisis in afghanistan, promulgated after the taliban's takeover in august 2021. Due to inability and/or difficulties sending international ransactions to afghanistan, sahr agrees to receive grants on behalf of wjo and make the necessary payments to wjo staff located in various countries, under the terms and conditions of the agreement, and in addition, based on the terms and conditions imposed by wjo donors.
Gender justice fellowship - the sahr gender justice accelerator is a 12-month legal development program that equips lawyers and Human Rights defenders with the community, skills, and resources to transform the law and policy-making space towards effectively ending sexual and gender-based violence (sgbv). Sahr aims to dismantle barriers to policy-making and integrate new and critical conversations. The focus is on equipping these leaders with the necessary knowledge and connections to make a meaningful difference. Through these efforts, sahr strives to create opportunities for these advocates to bring about significant changes in policies and practices that affect their communities. The sahr gender justice accelerator is not just about offering support; it's about fostering leadership and amplifying voices that are often overlooked in critical decision-making processes. We do this through the following strategies: on-the-job legal mentorship and capacity-building of lawyers and Human Rights defenders to advance gender justice on cases and law/policy initiatives peer-to-peer linkages between Human Rights lawyers and defenders on gender equality, women's Rights. Joint Advocacy and reporting to international bodies such as the united nations.
General program - build capacity and courage: through the sahr justice lab, we facilitate peer-led workshops for Human Rights defenders and lawyers. Our curriculum is designed for activism and practice at the frontlines of Strategic litigation, and systems reform. Provision of legal, protection and Advocacy support: we give survivors of gender-based violence and Human Rights defenders urgent legal, protection and Advocacy support. We regularly advocate at the highest levels before the eu, us state department and un special rapporteurs and agencies. Communicate to educate: we reimagine what justice work looks like in times of war, polarisation and fundamentalism. Through our sahr justice podcast, we bring to life ideas and lived experiences of justice advocates around the world. Network with advocates: network with Human Rights advocates to accelerate a global momentum to reform laws and policies, and, prevent reversal of Rights.
Other: justice Advocacy and survivors
