Student Connection

SEi ran formal and pilot groups, trips, and meetings in accord with our liberal arts mission with 3 general demographics or groups: a) high school and college students, b) educators, and c) adults. These collective activities happened in 2 general regions: a) Texas and b) the Mid-Atlantic area of Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia. Groups for all demographics met monthly throughout the year with meetings at cafes, inns, homes, and (for 4 months) at the SEi office in the Museum District of Houston. We also ran an overnight trip for students and teachers in the summer. SEi provided all educational materials, curriculum, planning, guidance, teaching and training of group leaders and assistants, and meeting refreshments. Directly, 95 persons were part of 6 separate groups and regularly engaged with monthly activities, including 21 educators, 42 students, and 32 adults. More than 30 additional students and adults participated in select events that were not part of the monthly programs. Indirectly, we have much feedback noting impact on schools and homes, and noting the desire and plans to exponentially expand growth.
