Sumner County Farm Bureau is an organization that aims to develop, foster, promote, and protect programs for the general welfare, including economic, social, and political well-being of farm people. The structure of organizational leadership provides many opportunities for member leaders to keep abreast of issues that affect agriculture through agriculture leadership activities. Through its network of volunteer leaders, Sumner County Farm Bureau supports public policy efforts at the local, state, and national level in order to protect and promote the agriculture industry.

Program areas at Sumner County Farm Bureau

Public policy programs in order to protect & promote the agriculture industry the Sumner co Farm Bureau through its structure of volunteer leaders supports public policy efforts at the local, state & national level. This is accomplished through both legislative & regulatory monitoring communications with members & public awareness programs about farming & rural life & provide information about the agriculture industry. Volunteer board members participate in the sponsorship of meet the candidate activities & yearly policy meetings with their legislators to educate them about ag policy & how the industry is impacted by lawmakers.
Youth leadership development Sumner County Farm Bureau supports youth agriculture organizations both financially and with volunteer hours across the County. The Sumner County Farm Bureau is a primary sponsor of the Sumner County 4-h and ffa organizations. The Sumner County Farm Bureau enlists the help of local farmers and provides tours for elementary age children to show how important agriculture is in our everyday lives and what goes on on a daily basis on a Farm. Sumner County Farm Bureau is also a large promoter of the outdoor classroom in the County.
Agriculture leadership activities the Sumner County Farm Bureau structure of organizational leadership provides many opportunities for member leaders to keep abreast of issues that affect agriculture. Local board members attend organizational & educational meetings each month. They participate in other local agricultural, civic, & community organizations. Leaders attend district, state & national conferences to network with farmers & other agriculturalists to learn about current issues facing agriculture. A highly developed committee structure provides leadership opportunities for members through meetings, regular communications, and agricultural activities.
