Tactical medicine program is our flagship effort, featuring medical backpacks filled with carefully curated critical medical supplies. We provide several backpack versions to accommodate different levels of training of military medics who will use them. One large backpack costs ~$1,000 and can help save 10-12 lives. During fiscal year 2023 we sent approximately 700 of medical backpacks, 4,500 of individual first aid kits, 17,250 tourniquets, 4,400 combat gauze, 32,600 hand and foot warmers, 5 oxygen concentrators and 24,600 of other life-saving medical supplies to courageous ukrainian medics.
During the fiscal year, Sunflower of Peace delivered humanitarian aid to vulnerable populations in ukraine, focusing on areas near conflict front lines and the kakhovka region affected by a dam explosion. We prioritized providing essential supplies like food, water, clothing, and medical resources to alleviate hardships faced by individuals and families affected by war. In response to the dam explosion, we swiftly mobilized to offer emergency relief, coordinating with local volunteers to distribute tailored aid packages. Our humanitarian aid initiatives have been carried out in collaboration with local partners, and community leaders to ensure that aid reaches those who need it most in a timely and effective manner. Sunflower of Peace delivered 420 solar panels and light bulbs, 580 food pakcages, 9,000 water bottles, 2 boats and 4 motor water pumps, 510 items of warm children clothing, 180 medications for civilians and 540+ of other humanitarian aid including water filters, water purification tablets, insuling, firewood and baby food, to the most affected populations of ukraine.
During the fiscal year, Sunflower of Peace has procured, outfitted, and delivered emergency vehicles, medical evacuation vehicles, radios, and generators to support humanitarian efforts in ukraine. We collaborated with local and international partners to identify suitable vehicles and equipment, managing the procurement processes, including inspections, customization, and transportation arrangements, to ensure safe and efficient delivery to designated locations in ukraine. Because of our tireless volunteers, employees and donors, Sunflower of Peace was able to send 2 ambulances, 3 medical evacuation vehicles, 2 pinzgauer ambulances, 4 generators and 33 charging stations in fiscal 2023.
