Program areas at Sunrise Movement Education Fund

Green new deal summer camp: we held a series of week-long summer camps for high school youth to train them on general organizing skills and set them up to organize events that promote a vision for a green new deal and combatting the climate crisis campaigns in their local communities. Hundreds of youth leaders gained valuable Education on the causes and solutions to the climate crisis, as well as organizing and campaigning skills to fight for a green new deal.green new deal circles: we ran three cohorts of a program designed to bring in and equip new leaders to fight for a green new deal in their communities. We supported them to set up a green new deal community fest where they would raise awareness of the need to address the climate crisis and start to establish a base of members and supporters who could organize to build support for climate action in their local communities and across the country.miami constituency fellowship: we set up a fellowship program to do powerful local base-building in black and latine communities in miami dade county. Our fellows would do weekly canvassing efforts to talk with community members about how the solutions to climate change presented by a green new deal and would benefit their community, hold community events, and bring in new community members to take on leadership roles within the local miami hub.
