Program areas at Supermajority Education Fund
Mobilizationsupermajority Education Fund's mobilization program is building state-power throguh our work in target states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, north carolina, Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Nevada. Our key strategy is to develop a better understanding of, and build long term relationships with our target voters; young women and women of color, between the ages of 18-35, who do not have a consistent voting record. To do this, we recruit and train volunteers to have compassionate conversations - often referred to as deep conversations - that connect shared values to the practice of voting.
Trainingsmef's training program aims to train and empower women to becom leaders in their own communities, to help make the majority rules real for all people. This program consistes of two components, our majority leaders speakers series and majority leaders summits. Our speaker series virtually connects our supporters and volunteers with powerhouse organizers across gender, climate, disability and broader civil rights spaces to give perticipants an opportunity to hear stories and lear skills cruicial to work happening around community organizing and broader civic engagement. After the completion of our speaker series, smef invited highly engaged participants to join us, in-person, to be officially trained as majority leaders. At in-person summits, majority leaders will meet with local and national staff at 1 of 4 regional summits across the country. These summits will further train majority leaders on core skills of community organizing, build a connection with us, and empower them with tools and resources to begin organizing in 2023 and beyond.
Narrative shift & community growthsupermajority ed Fund's narrative shift and community growth program aims to change the narrative around women's civic power throguh cutting edge research and media engagement. In 2023, smef partnered with leading research agencies to gain insight into the attitudes, behaviors, and political potential of women. We learned that young women know they hold power together, they are ready to make change on the issues they care about, and they want representatives that embody our values and make change. Following the public release of our research findings, our narrative shift and community growth program switched focus to employing these learnings to testing what platforms, messengers, and media forms are provoking responses and engagement from our audiences and supporters.
