Program areas at Survive First
The Survive First Treatment Assistance Fund is in place for first responders needing mental health support but unable to access it due to financial hardship. Survive First provided financial support for over 30 first responders to receive mental health treatment assistance. Survive First partnered with many Mental Health Treatment Centers nationwide in order to ensure the first responders could receive treatment assistance travel to an from the centers and miscellaneous travel expenses.
Our program provides opportunities for first responders and their families to access free educational seminars webinars focusing on mental health physical health family health spiritual health and overall well-being. In addition to educational opportunities we invite our first responders and families and join us in weekly wellness activities both online and in person. Many of the Survive First Racing Team wear their gear at Marathons 10Ks Duathlons and other sporting events to get the word out. Survive First supports many wellness initiatives and incorporates them in both the education and Treatment Assistance. The message is that they are not alone and there is help from many resources. If Survive First doesn't have the assistance needed they are referred to other organizations.
Survive First offers educational seminars for departments and agencies focusing on mental health and overall wellness in the first responder community. Knowledge is Power. Survive First believes that education is the master key to breaking the silence and stopping the stigma of mental health issues in first responders. Members of Survive First attend many Law Enforcement organization conferences including IACP FBINA and numerous police departments nationwide. Survive First Founders give talks about the many challenges of Mental Health in Law Enforcement. In addition the families of Law Enforcement are educated at these events. Survive First brought many First Responder Organizations in to speak of their successes and challenges at the First Responder Gala and other Events by Survive First. Survive First uses an impressive amount of social media zoom conferences and written pamphlets and articles to support education of Law Enforcement Leadership and the individual first responder.
