Program areas at Survivor Ventures

S2e is a 24-month program to strengthen and expand economic empowerment services for trafficking survivors. The program is divided into two phases: 1) s2e1: in the first year, survivors engage in supported employment in a field of their choice, receiving job coaching, entrepreneurial mentorship, and "employment first" on-the-clock technical skills training and professional development. These resources help participants become significant contributors to their workplaces. 2) s2e2: in the second year, participants leverage skills and experiences from s2e1 to connect with small business incubators and resources that help them fund and grow their own business ventures.in 2023, we served 71 new trafficking survivors, 48 in Virginia, 21 in Delaware and 2 in the greater Washington dc metro region (dmv) with 80% achieving gainful employment and 37% incorporating businesses.
Our housing stability program (hsp) provides 12 months of gradually reduced rental assistance for tenant-based apartments throughout hampton roads, Virginia and the state of Delaware. Assists in locating apartments and provides housing advocacy with landlords, furnishes each survivor-led home, and provides intensive community-based treatment. In 2023, we served 71 new trafficking survivors, 48 in Virginia, 21 in Delaware and 2 in the greater Washington dc metro region (dmv) with 80% achieving gainful employment and 37% incorporating businesses.
Crisis shelter program: provided crisis shelter in the form of short term, entire place airbnbs and vrbos to survivors upon escape from the trafficking situation or release from jail. This program includes provision of shelter, basic needs (clothing, food and household supplies) and intensive community based treatment. In 2023, Survivor Ventures provided crisis shelter to 9 survivors and their dependents (9 in Virginia and 2 in Delaware)
