Program areas at Susannah Wesley Community Center
Behavior services: provides crisis response, comprehensive case management and outpatient mental health services to victims of all forms of human trafficking. Services are statewide for minors and provided on oahu for adults. 101 victims (adult and children) were served. 81% of victims demonstrated increased knowledge and skills related to human trafficking and achieving safety. 78% of victims participating in the program did not re-engage in sex/labor trafficking activities.
Community services: food pantry plus - distributes non-perishable food and material goods to the Community and provides pop up events that connect families and individuals with available resources. In fy23, over 10,000 individuals were provided 3-5 days of food, over 600 households were provided basic need supplies such as diapers, hygiene items, etc. And over 200 households were provided access to resources and opportunities such as rental assistance and other public benefits.
Youth & family services: positive youth development - provides a safe and supervised place for youth to complete homework, have access to computers as wells as be engaged in other enrichment and recreational activities. Program is open to youth ages 5-21. In fy23, 147 students were served. 85% of youth increased competency in their ability to identify negative peers and 100% of youth demonstrated improvement in their confidence to seek help when needed.educational advancement - aims to engage truant and youth at-risk of truancy at the earliest opportunity by providing case management, educational support, and distance learning opportunities to earn high school equivalency. 102 students participated in the truancy/ged program. 81% of students in a traditional school improved their grades and 83% of ged students showed improvement in their testing scores.family stabilization and strengthening - provides best-practice parenting course that includes family case management, needs assessment, referrals to resources, parental education, and adult learning activities. 64 families were served in fy23. 100% of parents indicated that services have a positive impact on their life.
