Program areas at Sycamore Rehabilitation Services Hendricks County Arc
Residential support is provided to assist individuals with disabilities and build the skills needed to live in a safe environment. In-home support may be provided 24/7, or on a scheduled basis where assistance is provided for a planned number of hours. Persons receiving residential Services work with their support teams to define and obtain individual goals. Support teams include Sycamore Services residential assistants, as well as a case manager or service coordinator, and other appropriate service provider representatives.
Day programs offer adults with developmental disabilities meaningful activities that build or improve personal skills through structured educational and recreational Services. Activities are based on individual goals identified through our person-centered planning process. Sycamore Services offers day activities in marion, morgan, johnson and Hendricks counties. In our day program, Sycamore strives to obtain and utilize feedback from parents, families and program participants about the types of Services they would like to see added to our current curriculum. Our day programs feature opportunities such as cooking classes, art classes, field trips, music therapy opportunities, gardening and more.
Supported employment Services assist individuals with disabilities in obtaining good jobs and becoming valuable employees, wherever they work. Employers, co-workers, and a Sycamore employment consultant (ec) provide the necessary support for people to be successfully employed in the community. An ec helps each individual client identify areas of interest for employment, finds jobs that match those interests, and works with the employer and the new employee for as long as necessary to ensure a smooth transition into the job. Sycamore ecs help direct job search activities by learning about each person and basing Services on individual interests, skills, and talents. The ec will assist with resume planning and provide input on interview techniques. Individual success is based on making appropriate job matches and providing on-site support as needed.
