Program areas at Teens to Trails
Outdoor Program/Outdoor Club: Teens to Trails works with Maine's middle and high schools to build meaningful relationships between students, caring adults and the natural world while sharing fun outdoor experiences. We provide training, financial support, and reliable resources to operate an outdoor club and bring the outdoors into the school day.
Sara's Scholarship: Is an investment in a teen's connection to the outdoors. This award enables an immersive summer leadership experience for 3-4 teens, offered in partnership with some of Maine's best expedition camps.
Life Happens Outside Challenge: Maine middle school students are challenged to spend as many minutes outside as they can for the final week of October. All outdoor activity counts! Winning schools earn cash to invest in more outdoor programs, as well as copious PR to draw attention to the benefits of time spent outside.
Outdoor explorers is a 6 week program for middle school students grounded in play and curiosity, offering basic skills with a goal for participants to gain comfort in being in nature. It can be hosted by a recreation department, teen center, home school group, or simply a group of parents.
