Program areas at Temple Israel Foundation
The Foundation gives grants to Temple Israel to support the advancement of its mission, vision and values. This includes general operating support, advancing Temple Israel's educational and community programs and supporting its worship services. Additionally, the Foundation supports Temple Israel facilities by providing funding for regular maintenance and the improvement of its building and grounds. Grants also support jewish education, including resources for learners with special needs, enabling them to participate fully in both formal and informal learning. Funding also supports interfaith programs together with area churches, mosques, synagogues and other faith communities.
The Foundation provides grants to Temple Israel to allocate scholarships based on financial need in order to assure that congregants of all ages have access to programs and services at Temple Israel and throughout the jewish community. Scholarships are granted for jewish education, youth program activities, camp teko, jewish camping experiences, and early childhood programs.
The Foundation supports jewl (jewish experiential whole-person learning), Temple Israel's educational programming for learners in grades k-10. Jewl provides instruction in jewish studies, including hebrew. Additionally, the Foundation supports programming at Temple Israel's camp teko, which serves over 300 children from throughout the twin cities, and hosts jewish programming for all ages.
