Program areas at Tenth Life Cat Rescue
During 2022, Tenth Life admitted 272 cats and kittens, many with special needs and injuries. Of those, 111 were under the age of 6 weeks and required intensive around-the-clock care. Through adoption, 245 Tenth Life cats found forever homes and another 106 were continuing to be cared for by Tenth Life and its dedicated foster caretakers. Of those adopted, some required special medical care and rehabilitation during their time at Tenth Life. Examples include: cats and kittens with physical injuries, broken limbs, congenital abnormalities, neurological issues, heart conditions, behavioral obstacles, and vision impairments including blindness as well as bottle-fed neonatal kittens among others. The story of each Cat is unique but each one ended with a Cat being placed in a home where they will be given the lives they deserve.
Tenth Life Cat Rescue currently leases a storefront location in saint louis that is open to the public by appointment. This location houses, on average, 25 cats and kittens in a cage-free environment. The adoption lounge is designed to reflect a typical home atmosphere with living rooms and gathering spaces that allow guests and volunteers to easily mingle and naturally provide effective socialization to the cats who call it home until they find their home.
Tenth Life believes that compassionate humane education can be found in every contact with members of our community. In 2022, Tenth Life responded to more than 1,560 calls for assistance and helped 129 people, in our community and globally, who were in need of behavior help so they could keep their pets at home with their families and out of shelters. We welcome student, social, corporate, and civic groups to learn about how we can all positively impact cats' lives and look forward to inviting more of these groups back into our space in 2023.
