Program areas at Education Foundation of Teton Valley

The Education Foundation of Teton Valley's most impactful program during the 2022-2023 fiscal year was program grants. These large, recurring grants are designed to provide administrators with a stable funding source to pilot or expand the impact of programs that enhance public Education. The following program grants were funded during the fiscal year: victor elementary school garden program, Teton middle school 4+1 program, and rendezvous upper elementary school character strong program. Funding is provided for three years following the initial award and recipients are asked to provide the eftv with yearly progress reports.
The Education Foundation of Teton Valley provides spanish language classes across three kindergarten-third grade elementary schools. This program ensures every elementary student has a chance to acquire second language- learning skills during the years in which their minds are most ready to develop language. The program provides a native-spanish speaking teacher who models appropriate language and provides teacher representation for the approximately 30% of students who identify as latino in the school district. The curriculum is designed to support language development and understanding of spanish-speaking cultures.
The Education Foundation of Teton Valley served as the fiscal sponsor for the Teton Valley collaborative for early learning. While under the eftv, this project was able to initiate a project that will increase access to quality childcare by over 50% in Teton county. The tvcel continues to develop and lay the groundwork to support early learning outcomes in our community, which will support future public school outcomes.
The Education Foundation of Teton Valley works to elevate public Education through a three-initiative approach. We prepare students, support our schools, and enhance public Education. All Education Foundation programs fall within one of our three initiatives including the three programs mentioned above. Additional programs include parent Education programs and back-to-school readiness resources, summer learning programs, at-home library programs, expedition yellowstone field trips, robotics programs, afterschool programs, and grant programs that support our schools. This work is possible because of a dedicated school district and engaged community. The Education Foundation of Teton Valley's classroom grant program provides teachers and administrators the ability to apply for funding to support critical needs or innovative programs in their schools annd classrooms. Applications are accepted three times per year. The grant process is competitive and grants are scored based on a rubric. The grants awarded through this program impact the vast majority of students in grades k-12th. We aim to provide 5,000 per cycle each year for a total of 15,000 per school year. Total amounts vary and depend on applications submitted and additional funding available. Strategy grants are designed to help tsd401 teachers, librarians, counselors, and administrators implement innovative solutions for recurring needs in their classrooms or buildings by strategically securing funding for the following school year. This year, eftv funded behavioral supports, spotlights for the high school stage, keyboards for beginning piano class, a kiln for an elementary school, java programming for high school students, and community collaboration resources.
