Program areas at TASBO

Membership services - these services include providing extensive resources, opportunities for peer interaction, job postings, timely topical communication through emails, and discounts on conferences and workshops. Through the online members only site, members may access the best practices resource documents, participate in the e-communities, a discussion board specific to job-related issues, and access the members directory.
Academics and workshops - the development and offering of various timely academies and workshops provide professional training and information to School district personnel in a variety of delivery formats. These include one-day workshops focusing on single topics of interest, multiple-day academies with several presenters providing information on a multitude of issues, and online webinars featuring short, 1-2 hour presentations, which are delivered electronically to the participants' desktop.
Conferences and exhibits - tasbo has an annual conference, a summer conference, and a maintenance/operations conference that all include exhibitors. Conferences offer professional training and education concerning School Business operations and leadership guidance for the Association. The annual and summer conferences are developed by staff in conjunction with committees.
Educational courses - the Association offers professional certification and continuing education in order to promote standards of professional competence for Texas School Business Officials. Courses are offered face-to-face and online (recorded and live).
Consulting services - tasbo provides professional evaluation services for School districts (management reviews) that include a custom program appropriate for the needs of the district, district visits by the evaluation team, a bound report with commendations and recommendations, and upon request, a presentation of the report to the administration and/or board of trustees. The evaluation teams are a selected group of School administrators with expertise in the area being reviewed. Tasbo also provides support to participants in the area of School finance. Participants receive funding estimates based on current and proposed legislation along with regular updates and presentations, keeping districts informed and the support to plan ahead.
Sponsorships - tasbo provides the opportunity for businesses to brand and engage themselves with members. Sponsors provide value to members and are committed to providing solutions to the challenges facing School Business leaders.
Other programs - tasbo provides members with access to professional liability insurance, recognizes members who have implemented best practices in the area of purchasing (award of merit), and partners with frontline education (forecast5 analytics) by providing education opportunities to participants in the utilization of 5sight, a data analytics tool that assists districts with their decision-making.
