Texas Bandmasters assn., Inc. is a professional Association for band directors in education. Texas Bandmasters Association, Inc. has been approved and registered as a continuing professional education (cpe) provider by the Texas state board for education certification. The malcolm helm scholarship and alfred f. sturchio scholarship are each awarded annually to an outstanding undergraduate wind or percussion instrument player majoring in music education at a college or university in Texas. The recipient must have completed a minimum of sixty hours by the end of the spring semester with a minimum gpa of 3.0 on a 4.0 system. The criteria for awarding the scholarship are musical accomplishments and contributions, academic excellence, potential success in the teaching profession, and personal attributes. Family members of officers, directors, and employees are not eligible for this award.
