Program areas at Texas Casa

Austin-based Texas Casa (court appointed special advocates) is the statewide association of 74 local Casa programs that recruit and train volunteers to advocate for children in the state's child protection system. These 74 local programs provide services in 220 of the state's 254 counties. In fiscal year 2022, Texas had 9,590 Casa volunteers and 23,943 children had a Casa advocate. Texas Casa supports local Casa programs by providing funding, training and technical assistance to program staff, board and volunteers to help ensure each program can operate effectively and seek out the quality volunteers to advocate for the best interest of the children assigned with the goal of finding their forever homes. By ensuring fiscal responsibility, maintaining trusted partnerships and keeping a strong focus on quality control and services, Texas Casa is able to assure a strong network of programs and meet another priority service for our members, advocating with child protection stakeholders to advance improvements in the child protection system.
