Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville (THS) is an acute care, full-service hospital with 47 staffed and 47 available beds providing health care for residents in Erath and surrounding counties since 1982. THS offers health care services such as inpatient and outpatient surgery, women's services, advanced diagnostic imaging, inpatient physical therapy, wound care and cardiac rehabilitation. THS has been recognized as a Nurse-Friendly and Baby-Friendly Hospital, operates a Level IV Trauma Center, and is designated as a Support (Level III) Stroke Facility. During the year, THS had 4,537 patient days, 1,659 discharges, 28,258 outpatient encounters, 18,233 emergency room visits and 316 births. THS provides quality medical healthcare regardless of race, creed, sex, national origin, handicap, age, or ability to pay. The hospital provides care to persons covered by governmental programs including Medicare and Medicaid for reimbursement that does not always cover the cost of providing the care. Recognizing its mission to the community, services are provided to both financially indigent and medically indigent patients. Community benefit is provided through many reduced price services and free programs to the community. These services are essential to provide complete healthcare to the communities served. THS promotes Diabetes Self-Management, a program where the hospital's Center for Diabetes Education partners with physicians and other members of the community in an effort, through education and encouragement, to promote healthy lifestyles, good nutrition, the importance of exercise and the importance of early diabetes detection. THS provided car seat safety checks to Erath and surrounding counties as well as assisted with installing car seats safely and free of charge to those in need.
