Program areas at Texas Hospice Organization
MEMBER BENEFITS: EDUCATIONMembers have access to 98 hours of online training programs that are available 24 hours a day. Online professional development is available for all hospice disciplines. ADVOCACYTNMHPO represents member organizations at both the national and state levels before legislative bodies and regulatory agencies. Our board of directors and staff are respected points of contact and information for rule-making authorities. We advocate for our members in governance decisions large and small offering practical insight and advocating for fair and ethical policies. REFERRALSMember organizations are listed on the TNMHPO website and member directory. The hospice locator tool is another valuable resource for families in need of hospice care -and they find our members first. Another referral opportunity stream is TNMHPOs phone number, which is published in Medicares hospice booklet. When individuals and families call that number in search of quality hospice care, TNMHPO directs them to member organizations whenever possible. ANNUAL CONFERENCETNMHPO hosts an annual conference each spring with an average attendance of more than 400 hospice professionals. During this meeting, general sessions with nationally recognized experts in hospice and palliative care are provided over 50 breakout sessions that are tailored to the individual and professional needs of the participants. NEWS YOU CAN USEThe Update, a weekly news brief, provides timely information about hospice around the state, and the nation. A weekly regulatory update provides information gleaned from the federal, Texas and New Mexico registers, as well as information and analysis developed from meetings and other sources. When either state legislature is in session, members receive weekly legislative updates. COMMUNITYTNMHPO understands the power of synergy, and seeks to connect members that can be of service and support to one another. There is no one size fits all in hospice care, and leaders need a network of resources to tackle day-to-day challenges with clarity and confidence.
