Annual convention to provide professional development for teachers in attendance and to provide venue to showcase outside Music programs across the state and recognize all-state high school musicians.
Published the southwestern musician monthly to provide Association information to all members along with instructional- related articles
Region and area activities and meetings including sponsoring the all-region and all-state student audition process
Worked with state board of education & Texas legislature to protect fine arts opportunities for students in Texas schools. Worked with sboe to protect electives opportunities for students in state-approved graduation plans.
Members are offered the ability to purchase liability insurance through the organization.
