Program areas at Texas Telephone Association
Texas Telephone Association (tta) conducts an annual convention each fall for its 104 member companies and associate members. This annual event provides an opportunity for colleagues to gather, exchange ideas, and share information about the industry. Various seminars and workshops are also held throughout the year in response to the education needs of tta's members.
The Texas Telephone assocation serves in a public relations role on behalf of its 31 member companies, constantly striving to maintain an image of service and dedication. Staff members stay in contact with industry and trade press, and news releases on current industry issues are widely distributed to print and broadcast media across the state as relevant events occur.
The Texas Telephone Association (tta) maintains a program of advocacy before the legislative and executive branches of state government, the public utility commission of Texas, and numerous other state regulatory agencies. Tta also maintains close ties to various national associations in monitoring issues on the federal level. Additionally the Association encourages its members to actively participate in the electoral process and to choose representatives who will best serve the interests of all texans through its political action committee (ttapac). Ttapac strives to maximize the industries impact with statewide and legislative candidates and seeks to strengthen the relationship between leaders of the Texas telecommunication industry and our elected officials.
Tta communicates to its members through various publications. Tta works to maintain its members awareness of current events and developments through weekly member update reports detailing the latest industry related developments and a calendar of industry events. Periodical bulletins are also sent to all active members. Tta provides an annual member handbook providing a detailed look at the Association and its members including a directory of all current members and associate members. Lastly, tta prepares a full color, up to date map of the local incumbent exchange service areas in Texas.
