The 1947 Partition Archive recorded and preserved oral history interviews from 1417 Partition witnesses in 2017, of which 1110 were archived by 24 trained volunteer student archivists who in total donated 5760 hours of service to the cause. The organization directly served 1417 elderly Partition witnesses over age 75, by recording their oral histories and approximately 3000 individuals who are children of witnesses and over 4500 grandchildren of witnesses.The 1947 Partition Archive trained 1335 members of the general public via its free oral history workshop, of whom 108 went on to record and submit oral histories of Partition witnesses from their communities, and became confirmed Citizen Historians and trained oral historians. The 1947 Partition Archive trained and oversaw the oral history submissions of 85 Story Scholars and Oral History Student Interns in 2017.The 1947 Partition Archive also partnered with Stanford University Libraries and made 50 of its total collection of 4103 oral histories in 2017, available to the public through free online video streaming via the Stanford Digital Repository. This is a pilot program and stepping stone towards making its complete collection of oral histories accessible to the public through online video streaming.On social media The 1947 Partition Archive accumulated over 250,000 new fans who engaged over 10,000,000 times with posts about oral histories through likes, comments and shares.
