Program areas at The Advocate Center for Culture and Education
Advocate after school, acce's largest program, is a rigorous youth development program that supports academic and socio-emotional growth through literacy-focused writing programming, leadership-focused performing and visual arts, athletics, and basic needs provision serving 145 youth ages 8-18. Advocate workshops occur weekday evenings and emphasize self-expression, self-esteem, and skill development. Workshops expose students to new disciplines, practices, and ways of thinking and range from computer coding to filmmaking to poetry workshops to college prep. Advocate workshops serve 102 children ages 8-18.summer at the Advocate includes summer camps for elementary children focused on global citizenship, middle school and high school leadership camps, and a college boot camp for rising high school juniors and seniors. Summer at the Advocate serves 77 students.
