COLLECTION ACTIVITIES INCLUDE CARE (CONSERVATION, FRAMING), MANAGEMENT (LOANS, INVENTORY, RECORD KEEPING), DEVELOPMENT (PURCHASES, GIFTS) AND SCHOLARLY RESEARCH OF THE AMISTAD CENTER'S COLLECTION OF MORE THAN 7,000 WORKS OF ART, ARTIFACTS AND DOCUMENTS.Exhibition related activities include the development of the exhibition concept, creation of the checklist of works to be included in the exhibition, coordination of loans and conservation of artwork with museum personnel, writing explanatory labels and wall text, writing and coordinating the design of catalogues or other publications and information to be present on the website, coordinating image use permissions, working with artists to create or install work, opening receptions and events, docent training.
