Program areas at ABC
Group homes & supervised apartments - designed to meet The needs of men and women with intellectual and other disabilities, most of whom lived previously in state developmental centers or at homes with families. The program helps residents learn both independence, through active roles in The care and operation of their home, and personal skills (eg. Grooming, shopping, socialization, etc.) That afford them The opportunity to become responsible members of The community.
Adult vocational program - within The adult day program are The lawn and garden maintenance service and The Arc thrift shop. Lawn care participants are trained and supervised by staff to work on various landscaping contracts within The community. Thrift store participants help sort donations, stock shelves, interact with customers, operate The cash register, and maintain The store. Both services provide skill development and offer participants opportunities for employment within The community.
Adult day program - designed to serve adults with developmental disabilities who require a daily program of activities that develop skills in adaptive living, self-help and personal awareness. Our person-centered focus determines The individuals interests and goals then provide in-center and community-based activities that help attain those goals. Recreation services provides monthly social and recreational activities as well as trips for individuals with developmental disabilities.
