Caregivers training and support provide outreach, information, referral, coaching and advocacy for caregivers of individuals with developmental disabilities. Develop and disseminate written information for families on government benefits and programs; legal, financial and long-term planning. Ensure materials address The needs of diverse groups, such as communities of color and non-english speaking groups. Provide training and parent providers who provide care for their adult child with developmental disabilities. Provide local parent-to-parent programs across The State with The written information developed and provide funding for these programs to provide local outreach, information and referral for families.
Developmental disabilities endowment trust fund support The developmental disabilities endowment trust fund by providing information on financial and long-term planning for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Provide enrollment and disbursement services for individuals enrolled in this special needs pooled trust fund. Provide on-going information and support to families and individuals regarding The endowment trust fund and how it can positively impact their family member with developmental disabilities.
Advocacy partnership project support advocacy efforts that provide opportunities for self-advocates, parents, family members and community advocates to effectively advocate about issues of importance to The people with developmental disabilities and their families.
