Program areas at Barns of Rose Hill
In 2023, Barns of Rose Hill enriched the lives of over 8,800 visitors from across the Northern Shenandoah Valley and beyond with more than 125 cultural arts and educational programs, over half of which were free to attend. In support of the 225th anniversary of the incorporation of the Town of Berryville, we collaborated with volunteer representatives from the Town and Clarke County to present various free programs and two exhibitions celebrating the past, present, and future of the pastoral community of Berryville. Barns of Rose Hill also delighted in welcoming area residents of all ages to more than 50 stellar concerts, which were responsible for attracting hundreds of new and returning visitors while supporting at least 175 local, national, and international musicians. We remain particularly proud of our reputation for collaborating with numerous regional nonprofit partners to present community and educational opportunities, from film screenings and trivia nights to new resident meet-and-greets. Our galleries, free and open to the public for at least 1,000 hours during the year, supported hundreds of artists who partook in the collective exhibitions featured therein. These exhibitions highlighted a range of artistic styles and mediums, including woodworking, fiber art, collage, sculpture, and painting. Maintaining such a robust schedule of free and reduced-price programs is only possible with the help of 65 volunteers, who together contributed more than 800 hours toward Barns of Rose Hill programs in 2023.
