The Biome Education Group provides executive, fundraising and facility support services to The Biome, a charter elementary school. The organization also provides after-school learning programs to The Biome's students.
The mission of youth learning center is to provide unique academic and enrichment experiences for youth from underserved communities to inspire lifelong learning, social responsibility, and moral leadership. Our vision is to positively impact children from underserved communities by becoming The premier provider of life-changing educational opportunities in st. louis.to bring our mission to life, ylc gives children access to 21st century steam (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) Education, and state-of-the-art technology not readily available in low-income communities. Creative learning opportunities during out-of-school-time hours help students develop basic literacy and math skills while they have fun exploring high tech skills such as engineering and computer animation. Hands on, innovative, technology-based projects teach creativity, problem solving, goal setting, and teamwork. Adult professionals and college students serve as tutors and role models to students.
Fees are collected from some students based on family income. These fees help offset some of The costs of materials and supplies used by The students and gives them some responsibility for their Education.
