Program areas at The Bronx Is Blooming
Grow, Revitalize, Engage, Educate, Nurture GREEN provides hands-on environmental workshops to schools, civic groups, and volunteer groups, through which participants learn about local ecology while restoring neighborhood park ecosystems to support the environmental and public health of their communities.
Program for Leaders Advancing their Communitys Environment PLACE hires young people from Bronx neighborhoods to lead volunteer groups in environmental restoration projects. In addition to seasonal employment, PLACE participants receive leadership training, gain green vocational and project management skills, and are exposed to higher education.
