CCl Education Provides public education/outreach to improve understanding of and appreciation for native shrubland habitats In 2018 CCI conducted 41 public presentations, organized and taught a continuing natural history program over 8 Saturdays
The €Cl Land Management Review Program aims to encourage efficient sustainable resource management consistent with environmental law. In 2018, local, state and federal projects with potential environmental impacts were reviewed input on fire management projects was provided. Review and input on the draft California state fire plan was provided and input for Projects on 4 USFS national forests. CCI attended collaborative meetings and performed field observations for proposed national forest and California state projects
The CCI Vernal Pool Conservation Program aims to conserve vernal pools and to protect ecosystems from direct and indirect impacts through education, observation, research, advocacy, negotiation and legal action. In 2018, environmental documents with potential impacts to vernal pools were reviewed. Interim and draft vernal pool management plans were reviewed. Vernal pool settlements were monitored and enforced. Legal efforts to protect vernal pools and other threatened species continued from Land conservation partnerships continued to develop. A Vernal Pool Program web presence was maintained
