Carousel Child Advocacy Center

In FY 2023/24, Carousel served 588 unduplicated child abuse survivors and their non-offending adult caregivers. Of the child survivors last year, 39% were Brunswick children; 40% were New Hanover children; 18% were Pender children; and 3% were from outside the tri-county area. The team conducted 301 child medical exams and 347 forensic interviews; had 431 family advocacy contacts, and 378 trauma therapy sessions provided to children - regardless of insurance, economic status, or ability to self-pay.
